Have not been able to use this on the water yet.
I hope the magnets are strong enough to hold my 10ft3in 7 weight rod. Works very well on 6wt rod.
Bought set for my fly-fishing friend and he said “what a great idea”. Will try them out in the spring when he comes up for a trip to western NC
